Ireneu Injai,
aged 40, of Maybury Road, Woking, was convicted September
2003at the Central Criminal Court in London of the murder
of his wife, Paula Injai, aged 36.
Injai, known
as Neil, committed murder on 8th January 2003 at his home
when Paula - his estranged wife, was visiting with their
son for a contact visit. Injai, a warehouse worker, He
pleaded guilty to manslaughter at the start of the trial,
but claimed that he had been provoked into killing his
wife. The jury did not accept this claim.
His Honour
Judge Stewart commented that the jury had heard
overwhelming evidence of murder. He described the attack
on Paula as, “merciless, ferocious and vicious. “ Injai
was sentenced to life imprisonment.
