Alan Taylor
was the boyfriend of Julie Patterson, who had been
murdered by cannibal Killer
David Harker
in 1998.
Following the
death, where Harker cut the body up, the head and limbs
were never found.
Alan Taylor
was often to be found digging holes all around
Darlington in an effort to find the missing body parts.
2006,
on the day of the murder, Taylor left a hostel where he
was staying and caught a taxi to Mr Morrison's house in
Trafalgar Terrace, Darlington.
After drinking for several hours, Taylor strangled
his friend, with his hands and then with a belt.
A few hours
later he dialled 999 and told the operator,
" I
am very sorry, but I have killed someone".
When he was
arrested he told police that he wanted to be sent to
Wakefield Prison, where he believed Harker was a
prisoner.
In court
Psychiatrist Kim Fraser said the defendant had an
abnormality of mind, including post-traumatic stress
disorder, when he strangled Mr Morrison,
Tuesday 27th March 2007,
At the Old
Bailey, Taylor was sentenced to life, with a recommended
minimum term of 13 years.
