1978 James
Kennedy, originally from Co Tipperary, Ireland, was
jailed for 10 years for two rapes in the same area of
Ireland. The victims were held or throttled around the
neck.
20th
October 1998, Citro raped and then strangled his next
door neighbour, Nijole Siskeviciene, he then
dumped her body propped up in a sitting position outside
garages at the back of her home in Lancelot Road,
Wembley, north London.
He changed his
name by deed-poll from James Kennedy to James Citro and
moved to Weston-super-Mare.
July 2010,
Citro was
stopped for drink driving, a routine DNA test linked him
to the 1998 killing of chamber-maid Ms Siskeviciene.
Thursday
27th January 2011, James Citro appeared at the Old
Bailey in London charged with the murder of 44 year old
Chamber-maid Nijole Siskeviciene. Citro denied murder.
Tuesday
11th October 2011, Trial starts at the old Bailey in
London.
Citro denies
all charges.
25th
October 2011, Citro claimed in courrt that he had
paid Ms Siskeviciene for sex on the day she died, he was
then watch TV in his flat. He also admitted lying to
police during the initial investigation, saying he was
trying to save his marriage.
Monday 31st
October 2011, James Citro is found guilty of murder
at the ild Bailey in London.
His sentencing
was deferred to allow reports.
Friday 9th
December 2011, Sentencing him at the Old Bailey to a
minimum of 20 years, Judge David Paget called Citro a
"dangerous man".
