FACTFILE

Saturday 22nd December 2008, Ryan Lovell-Hancox died aged three years old, after suffering more than 70 injuries at the home of the babysitters Christopher Taylor and Kayley Boleyn.
The mother was decorating her home had given the toddler to the pair to look after for just £20 a week.

Monday 24th December 2008, Ryan died of a brain injury at Birmingham's children's hospital.

Friday 26th June 2009, Taylor and Boleyn appeared at Birmingham Crown Court charged with murder and child cruelty, they were remanded in custody.

Friday 26th March 2010
, The two were found guilty.

The judge said: "It's clear to me that you (Boleyn) and your fellow defendant were incapable of looking after yourselves let alone a child... There were bruises to his skull, which had been inflicted by up to ten individual blows. There were marks on his legs and grazes to his face. He had been grabbed forcibly around the jaw and slapped and punched... These were not in isolation. There were further assaults to his lower back and buttocks on which there was extensive bruising... It really was a case where the jury saw injuries from top to toe. He (Ryan) would have suffered emotionally and physically and he would have needed comfort but you mocked him... You were unable to keep your own lives under control without smoking cannabis and alcohol and you took your petty grievances out on this boy because you regarded him as hyper-active and out of control."

28th July 2010,

Boleyn was sentenced to life, with a minimum of 13 years. Eligible for parole - 26th July 2023.

Taylor was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 15 years, parole eligible 26th July 2025.
