While they slept in their beds Kumari-Baker attacked and
stabbed her two daughters,16-year-old Davina 37 times
and 13-year-old Jasmine 29 times, she then went for a
drive before returning home, taking a shower, and
calling a friend, special police constable Natalie
Barford, saying "l have done something terrible, Natalie
please call me", Ms Barford arrived at the house in
Stretham and Kumari-Baker was arrested.
Monday 7th September
2009, The trail begins at Cambridge Crown Court.
Kumari-Baker pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the
grounds of diminished responsibility, but denied murder.
Monday 21st September
2009, The jury took half an hour to find Baker
guilty of two counts of murder.
Tuesday 22nd September
2009, Kumari-Baker is sentenced to 33 years,
sentencing her, Mr Justice Bean said the Parole Board
would not consider her for release until 2040, when she
will be 72.
