FACTFILE
Pierre Williams was born in
the Manchester area of Moss Side. He had a history of
abusing women. As a teenager he was accused by a
girlfriend of sexually abusing her. He developed a
fascination with the Bible, and with spiritual rituals.
Williams was arrested once as a teenager on suspicion of
murder, although he was not charged with any offence
12th July 2007,
Beverley Samuels, a nurse at Manchester Royal Infirmary,
was sexually assaulted before being struck with at least seven blows to
the head. Her daughter Kesha Wizzart had her hands tied
behind her back before being killed in the same manner.
Mrs Samuels' teenage son Fred, was found dead on the floor in
the same bedroom as his mother.
Williams had started a year
long abusive relationship with Beverley only a year after
she had split with the father of the children.
14th July 2007, 2
days after the attack Williams handed himself into
police.
March 2008,
During the trial, the jury was told that Williams had a
history of badly treating women.
Manchester Crown Court was told blood from each of his
victims was found on a pair of his shorts.
Giving evidence, Williams had blamed "an unknown hooded figure" for
the attacks.
6th March 2008 The
jury of seven men and five women took just over four hours
to find Williams guilty of three murders, he was
also convicted of sex assaults on Mrs Samuels and her
daughter.
He was sentenced to three
life sentences, and was ordered to serve a minimum of 38
years in prison for the killing in Manchester.
When the
first verdict was read out he scuffled with guards in the
dock and had to be restrained by three officers.
He was taken to the cells shouting "I'm innocent
