Friday 18th April 2008, Heather Wardle, 39, from Redditch, Worcestershire, and her son, James Hughes, both went missing,

A search was continuing for the "extremely vulnerable" Mr Hughes, who is 22 but has the mental age of an 18-month-old.

Monday 21st April 2008. The body of mother-of-four Mrs Wardle was found in undergrowth off Winyates Way in the Church Hill area of Redditch.
Her body was found less than a mile from where she lived with her son. When found the body had a dressing gown cord round the neck.

23rd April 2008, Mr Hughes body was found in Church hill, Redditch.
Two men were initially arrested.

Thursday 24th April 2008, police confirmed that the body found in the the family home in Redditch was that of 22 year old James Hughes.

Friday 25th April 2008, Police confirmed that the body of James was found in a suitcase in the garden of the family home. The post-mortem was inconclusive as the body was badly decomposed.

2nd May 2008, The step-father of James, Brian Kirby, who was arrested along with a 17 year old, spoke, talking of his love for the family.
Both men were released without charge.

Thursday, 18 December 2008, A coroner recorded a verdict of suicide on Heather Wardle, and an open verdict on the death of her son James Hughes.
