American born artist Margaret Muller was murdered on Monday 3rd February 2003 in Victoria park, Tower hamlets, east London. Margaret moved to London from the USA in 1998 and studied and worked at the Slade School of Fine Art. She had a studio in a converted factory in Hackney in which she lived.

Police investigating the murder of American artist Margaret Muller say two men were seen running from the scene. The men, described as "of eastern Mediterranean appearance" were seen running from the rose gardens in Victoria Park, near where Miss Muller was found, one was described as holding his head down and the witness thought he was trying to hide his face.

Detectives are investigating possible links between the killing of Margaret Muller in February and an attack on a woman jogger on Tuesday 2nd September. police say there are a lot of similarities. the attackers was described as Asian, 19 - 23 years old, with a strong Asian accent and a very noticeable lisp.

An inquest at Poplar Coroner's Court in east London heard Miss Muller, who studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, suffered multiple stab wounds.
A reward of £15,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the attacker.
Coroner Dr Andrew Reid recorded that she was unlawfully killed.

Police have released a 21-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the murder.
